Now you can enjoy the starry sky above the selected diving site at home using the Sky/Star module. This feature provides you with the sky map that gives you a feeling of real presence at a diving site.
The sky map has a common circular form with cut edges, depending on the horizon line at the actual viewing spot.
You can see various stars, constellations, planets, the sun and the moon in their actual positions in regard to the place and time you choose. From this panel you can manage longitude and latitude as well as date and time. Moreover, you can highlight certain constellations and planets to make them visible and easy to recognize.
Every object on the sky map has its own tool tip. You can identify any object by simply pointing your cursor on it – its name will instantly appear on the screen.
By default, you are able to see the sky at a predefined site (see the Dive Site Map), but you can also choose any place you wish by editing the longitude fields at the right-hand side of the window.
For fast and easy of navigation by the sky you can also highlight constellations or planets on the map by choosing the corresponding items from the list.
Select the data and time you wish from the appropriate fields. To see how the sky is changing throughout the day press the “>>” button. As you do so, the time will automatically change for the selected day.
Finally, you can navigate your position in regard to any site. When viewing the sky map, you will notice site marks containing geographic coordinates at the edge of the circular map.
Tip
The measuring scales you use within this program are defined in the Options module.
